Indian contemporary artist, Mithu Biswas having a interview

Q: What is the concept behind the title 'CHASING THE TIME'?

A: “Chasing The Time” is come in my mind from our life cycle. The time takes a important role in our life. In every moment the time always interacts with us. It’s a journey of my life and your life.

Our habit is, we always try to stop the TIME, but we can’t, even we never ever will do that… So we always try to chasing the time… to reach beyond the TIME…

In this context, I fund the HORSE was always used as a symbol to chasing the TIME. Here in my canvas, I try to build the relations between HORSE & TIME

“CHASING THE TIME” is a one of my favorite series of painting. The concept of the painting is that the horses are trying to chase the time. Which never stop…

I try to convey that in the life cycle we always fight with the time… rather than happily accept and believe it… THE TIME NEVER STOPS…

Q: How important is mood in your Painting?

A:
Yes, the mood and expression has a big role in my paintings. I come up with every painting in a different theme, color and composition. The way of presenting the horses was very challenging for me. Their appearance came totally different from others. The horses are looking very charming and energetic; the using of colors and texture were very bright and fresh. Which is always bringing you positive energy.

Yes, this is more of modern contemporary art based on my thought process.

Q: How would you describe your technique & style?

A: The way of presenting the technique & style is totally different and innovative. You can have a look the using of texture on the surface is unusual, which is my own method and technique.

Yes, these painting are the acrylic colors on canvas. Here, I try to use the method of color perspective and contrast of lighting. In the background I create beautiful forms of gears in a different size which helps to create spaces division in my composition. Sometimes I keep free space in the painting, which gives a breath space in the canvas. Mostly the using of monotonic color palate like; Red, Yellow, Brown, Sepia, Gray, Black & White, just because of the paintings are looking more of mature and beautiful.

Q: Who are your inspirations?

A: The experience of my life inspires me. Every moment we struggle to reach us in a place where we desire to be… but the law of the TIME doesn’t allow… we have wait for the TIME…

I love the historical event, which is always interesting for me. I experience the movies and novels of old history, where the HORSE had a big role, they were used a symbol of fighter with the time…

I try to relate that concept here….

Q: What is your philosophy?

A: I think, every moment of our life is aligned with the TIME, which we gradually experience one by one in our life cycle. And we are waiting for that to see…

I try to read the nature of the TIME… the direction of the TIME… so life will be easy and easiest…

I’ve been painting because I believe THE TIME, and it based on the PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE. Which are showing the different perspective in our life cycle…

Q: What is the message from your work to the audience?

A: Yes, I have a strong message to the viewer that “THE TIME NEVER STOPS… it’s always changing the law of your life and my life…

Try to understand the nature of The TIME… accept it… and go with it…

THE TIME WILL REWARD YOU IN TIME… wait for it…
